On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at approximately 12:50 p.m. police were dispatched to a residence on the 1100 block of Rae Street for the report of a home invasion in progress. Information received was that a group of masked people were breaking into a basement window, and that one of the suspects had a firearm.
Police in the area attended immediately and observed a vehicle speeding northbound, hitting a garbage bin. When the vehicle came to a stop on the 1100 block of Wascana Street, police arrested three of the six people that exited the vehicle. Three others escaped on foot. The three suspects that were arrested, a 41 year-old male, a 31 year-old male and an 18 year-old male, were jointly charged with break and enter, disguise, and possession of stolen property. The 31 year-old male was also found to be in possession of a machete and a substance believed to be methamphetamine. The 41 year-old was also found to be in possession of a knife, and substances believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Forty-one year-old William John CRAWFORD, thirty-one year-old Jordan Victor KAYE, and eighteen year-old Styles CRAWFORD, all of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- Break & enter & commit [CC 348(1)(B)];
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)]; and
- Disguise with intent [CC 351(2)].
Thirty-one year-old Jordan Victor KAYE, of Regina, is additionally charged with:
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) [CDSA 5(2)]; and
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)].
Forty-one year-old William John CRAWFORD, of Regina, is additionally charged with:
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) [CDSA 4(1)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (fentanyl) [CDSA 4(1)]; and
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)].
The three made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court today, Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 9:30 a.m.
