A male is charged after a weapons offence that occurred this morning, December 25, 2019.
On Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at approximately 3:55 a.m., police were dispatched to a business on the 1000 block of Pasqua Street for a report of a robbery. Information received was that a lone male suspect entered the business and threatened a twenty-five year-old male staff member with a knife. The suspect then exited the establishment and left in a taxi cab. Police were able to locate the taxi in the 900 block of Albert Street and arrest the suspect without further incident. No one was injured in this incident.
Although the suspect produced a knife and threatened the victim, there was no evidence to suggest a robbery or an attempted robbery occurred. Twenty-five year-old John WATKIN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)];
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order [CC 145 (5)(A)]; and
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance (Methamphetamine) [CDSA 4(1)].
John WATKIN makes his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Friday, December 27, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.
