Two males are facing weapons charges after an investigation that concluded last night. A female was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
On the evening of Wednesday, December 4th, as a result of investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit, a search warrant was executed by SWAT on a residence in the 1200 Block of Robinson Street. Three firearms were located in the home and two males were arrested and charged as a result.
One of the males was arrested at the residence. The other, who left the home prior to the search, was arrested at a traffic stop nearby.
Forty-three year-old Douglas James FAYANT of Regina has been charged with:
- 2 X Careless Use of a Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
- 2 X Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession is Unauthorized [92 (1)];
- 2 X Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [95(1)(a)];
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime [96(1)];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(b)]; and
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)].
Forty six year-old Charles Dwayne KLASSEN of Regina has been charged with:
- 2 X Careless Use of a Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
- 2 X Possession of a Weapon [CC 88];
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession is Unauthorized [92 (1)];
- 2 X Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [95(1)(a)];
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained by Crime [96(1)]; and
- 3 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)].
Thirty six year-old Celeste Dawn WHITEHAWK was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
FAYANT and KLASSEN made their first court appearances on the charges in Provincial Court this morning.
