The Regina Police is asking the public for information that could assist in an investigation into a possible firearms offence over the weekend.
On Sunday, December 1, 2019, police were dispatched to a business in the 1200 block of Broad Street for a report of a male with a firearm. A Loss Prevention Officer at the store reported that while doing a bag check with a male customer, he saw what appeared to be a handgun in the individual’s backpack. The customer had already paid for his purchases and was just on his way out of the store when this occurred. The male suspect is described as wearing a red toque, black jacket, and grey pants, carrying a red backpack. The male was with a female who was described as wearing a black hat with a small Canadian flag patch, black jacket with a grey hoodie underneath, and grey pants. The couple walked out of sight before police arrived. This incident is still under investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). The Regina Police Service thanks the media and the public for their attention to this matter.
