Three individuals are facing numerous firearms and drug-related charges as the result of police operations late last week.
The evening of Wednesday, October 2, 2019, as a result of an ongoing investigation, involving Patrol officers, the Stolen Auto Unit and the Street Gang Unit, a search warrant was authorized for a residence in the 1700 block of Montreal Street. Three people were safely taken into custody. A search of the residence revealed firearms, drugs, ammunition, and Canadian currency.
Fifty-two year old Dennis Brent MARCIA, of Regina, has been charged with:
- 4 X Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)];
- 2 X Careless use of firearm by storage [CC 86 (1)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking [CDSA 5 (2)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (fentanyl) [CDSA 4 (1)];
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1 (1)]; and
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(a)].
Nineteen year old Jayden MERCER, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking [CDSA 5 (2)]; and
- Fail to comply with recognizance [CC 145 (3)].
A youth has been charged with:
- 2 X Careless use of firearm by storage [CC 86 (1)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking [CDSA 5 (2)];
- 2 X Unauthorized possession of a firearm [CC 91 (1)];
- Fail to comply with conditions of undertaking given by officer in charge [CC 145(5.1)]; and
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(a)].
Both MERCER and MARCIA made their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court on October 3, 2019. The youth made his appearance in Youth Court on October 3, 2019.
