Investigation is continuing into a collision that occurred on September 22nd at the intersection of Arcola Avenue and University Park Drive. The injuries resulting from the collision, which involved a vehicle and an adult male on a skateboard, required hospitalization, but were not described as serious or life-threatening.
On Sunday, September 22, 2019, at about 7:35 p.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Arcola Avenue and University Drive for a report of a collision between a car and a person on a skateboard. Police located an injured 25 year-old male on the south east side of the intersection; he was taken to hospital by EMS. They also located the lone driver of a Chevy Cobalt involved in the collision. Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was eastbound on Arcola Avenue and entered the intersection, as the male on the skateboard crossed Arcola Avenue, from the south side of the intersection to the north.
