A 40 year-old female and a 45 year-old male appeared in Provincial Court today on numerous charges related to a stolen auto investigation from the past weekend.
On August 29, 2019, a black Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen to the Regina Police Service. On September 1, 2019, at about 7:00 p.m., a member of the Stolen Auto Unit located a vehicle matching the description of the stolen Jeep. The vehicle was followed to the 700 block of Victoria Avenue and the two occupants of the vehicle were arrested in a nearby business without incident. The stolen vehicle was searched and police seized a knapsack containing several stolen identity documents. Both individuals were charged as a result of the ensuing investigation.
Forty year-old Crystal DESNOMIE, of Regina, is facing a total of 36 charges:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [333.1(1) CC];
- 19 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 (vehicle, license plates, mail, cheques) [355(b) CC];
- 10 x Possession of an Identity Document [56.1(1) CC];
- 5 x Possession of Stolen Credit Card [342(1)(c) CC]; and
- Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC].
Forty-five year-old Campbell Thomas BELLEGARDE, of Regina, is charged with
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 (vehicle) [355(b) CC]; and
- Breach of Undertaking [145(3) CC].
Both DESNOMIE and BELLEGARDE made their first court appearance on these charges in provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
