A 17 year-old youth has been charged with assault and weapons offences after an incident on Tuesday evening.
On July 23, 2019 at approximately 10:45 p.m., police were dispatched to a business on the 4600 block of Albert Street for a report of a weapons offence. A male suspect entered the business and sprayed bear spray towards patrons. The suspect left the business in a vehicle. EMS attended and treated those affected by the bear spray.
At approximately 12:15 a.m. on July 24, police received reports of a male causing a disturbance on the 2900 block of Ridgeway Avenue. Police attended and located a male youth. Through the investigation, the male youth was arrested and charged in relation to the incident involving bear spray earlier in the evening.
A 17 year-old male youth of Regina, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with Possession of a weapon [88 CC] and 3 x Assault with a weapon [267(A) CC]. The youth will appear in Youth Provincial Court on July 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.
