As the result of continued investigation by the Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, investigators have concluded a death investigation begun on July 9, 2019, is not a criminal case.
On Tuesday, July 9th, police were dispatched, at about 1:00 a.m., to a house in the 1300 block of Garnet Street to assist a person in distress. Police arrived and located an adult male outside the house, who was confirmed deceased by EMS. Officers began a death investigation, secured the scene and requested the Coroner and additional resources. Now, as the result of investigation, the death has been deemed non-criminal. The deceased person was identified and notification made to his next-of-kin. His name will not be released by the Regina Police Service.
This concludes police involvement in this case. The case remains a coroner’s case; the Saskatchewan Coroners Service will continue to work to clarify the circumstances of this individual’s death.
