The Regina Police Service is involved in an investigation of a serious collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred earlier this evening.
At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2019, police units were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision which occurred in the area of 4th Avenue and Robinson Street. When officers arrived on scene, they found there had been a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. The female pedestrian appears to have sustained serious injuries, was initially treated, and then transported to hospital by EMS. Members diverted traffic away from the scene of the collision and remained at the scene for the purposes of the investigation. A collision reconstruction team was requested.
While we recognize the community’s concern, it is inappropriate to release medical information about the victim except to say that she remains in hospital at this time. The collision is still under investigation. The Regina Police Service reminds the public that collision investigations are complex and involve a comprehensive process of gathering all available physical evidence and witness statements. This process also gathers and considers a wide variety of other factors and potential contributors including vehicle integrity, time of day, weather, roadway conditions, roadway markings, other vehicles, etc.
If there is anyone who has information that could assist police in this investigation, they are asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
