The Regina Police Service is warning Regina residents to be aware of a gold and jewelry scam.
On May 21, 2019, police received a report about a male suspect who approached a victim at a business on the 4000 block of Albert Street. The suspect said he had lost his wallet and needed money for food and shelter. The suspect offered gold jewelry in exchange for money. The victim accepted the jewelry and gave money to the suspect. The victim later suspected the value of the gold jewelry was not equal to the sum of money he had given to the suspect.
The suspect is described as male in his late 40’s, light complexion, has a beard and is balding. He was seen driving a dark coloured SUV with an Alberta license plate.
