On Tuesday, April
16, 2019, at approximately 7:30 a.m. police were dispatched to a convenience
store on the 3100 block of 5th Avenue for the report of a robbery.
Police arrived to learn that a 26 year-old male was walking alone when he was
approached by another male on a bicycle near the convenience store. After a
brief exchange, the male on the bicycle rode a few meters away, put a mask on,
pulled a machete from his pants, and demanded the male’s money and belongings.
The robbery was unsuccessful as the victim fled on foot.
Attempts to find the suspect in the area were negative.
The suspect is described as male, Indigenous, in his mid-twenties to early thirties,
with short black hair, wearing a black hoody, and riding a bicycle.
