The Regina Police Service Drug Unit (RDU) completed an investigation and enforcement action on Thursday, April 4, 2019, into illegal drug trafficking within the City of Regina.
As a result of the investigation, a vehicle stop was conducted on a vehicle travelling southbound on Highway #11 entering Regina. A large quantity of methamphetamine was located during the stop. Further investigation resulted in members searching an address in the Lakeview area.
Thirty-nine year-old Michael Stephen PAUL of Regina, Saskatchewan, and twenty-seven year-old Brianna WENINGER of Calgary, Alberta, are jointly charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) [5(2)CDSA]; and
- Possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC].
In addition, PAUL was also charged with:
- Breach of recognizance [145(3) CC].
PAUL and WENINGER made their first appearance in Provincial Court on April 5, 2019, at 2:00 PM.
On Friday, April 5, 2019, the Regina Drug Unit continued an investigation and enforcement into illegal drug trafficking within Regina.
A CDSA search warrant was executed, with the assistance of the Regina SWAT team, in the 1900 block of Athol Street. A second CDSA search warrant was executed in the 2000 block of 14th Avenue. An additional quantity of methamphetamine, fentanyl, currency and additional evidence to support drug trafficking was located between the two addresses.
As a result, forty-two year-old Sean Cally CARSON and thirty-seven year-old Laura STUBBS, both from Regina, Saskatchewan, are jointly charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) [5(2)CDSA];
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) [5(2)CDSA]; and
- Proceeds under $500 [355(b) CC].
In addition, CARSON was also charged with:
- Breach of undertaking [145(3) CC]; and
- Breach of probation [733.1(1) CC].
STUBBS is also charged with:
- Breach of undertaking [145(3) CC].
CARSON and STUBBS first appeared in court on these charges on April 8, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.
Twenty-five year-old Matthew CARSON and twenty year-old Regan MACDONALD, both of Regina, Saskatchewan, are jointly charged with:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine [5(2) CDSA].
MACDONALD first appears in Provincial Court on this charge on May 15, 2019, at 9:30 a.m.
