On Saturday, February 2, 2019, at approximately 2:05 pm, police were dispatched to a reported firearm incident on the 1400 block of Retallack Street. It was reported that a 32 year-old male had threatened two teenage females and pointed a firearm at them. The females exited the house and were not physically harmed.
Police arrived and the 32 year-old male was taken into custody without further incident. A search warrant was executed on the residence and two firearms, and other prohibited weapons, were seized.
Thirty-two year-old Nathaniel Tyler Jonathan HEWTON, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon [CC 91(2)];
- 2 X Point firearm [CC 87];
- Careless storage of a firearm [CC 86(1)]; and
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm [CC 91(1)].
HEWTON made his first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges today, February 4, 2019, at 9:30 am.
