The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner is continuing its investigation into the discovery, on December 15th, of a deceased male in a yard in the 1000 block of College Avenue.
In the initial dispatch: police were sent at about 5:15 p.m., on Saturday, December 15, 2018, to the 1000 block of College Avenue for a report of a male who was lying outside a residence. Police and EMS attended and located a male, who was confirmed deceased. Officers secured the immediate area and requested the additional resources of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units, as well as the Coroner. The deceased male has been identified and his family has been notified of his death. He is a 16 year-old Regina male. His name will not be made public at this time.
There are still investigative tasks to be carried out in this case, some of which will take months to complete. However, at this stage in the investigation, there is no indication that this person’s death is the result of criminal action. Police investigators will continue to work with the Office of the Chief Coroner to gather information and further clarify the circumstances surrounding this death.
