On December 16, 2018, at approximately 4:15 p.m., police received information that a break and enter had just occurred on Hooper Bay. Police attended and observed signs of forced entry to the residence, and were advised that firearms were stolen. Investigation led to a 35 year-old male.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the 1400 block of Rae Street. The driver of the vehicle, the 35 year-old male suspect, was arrested, as well as a 30 year-old female occupant of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed firearms and ammunition believed to be stolen in the break and enter.
Thirty-five year-old Aaron George GEOTZ, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)];
- Possession of a firearm or restricted weapon obtained by crime [CC 96(1)];
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle [CC 94(1)];
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm [CC 91(1)];
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Improper storage of a firearm/restricted weapon [CC 86(2)];
- Break and enter and steal a firearm [CC 98(1)(B)]
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)]
Thirty year-old Tara MARTIN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)];
- Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Possession of a firearm or restricted weapon obtained by crime [CC 96(1)];
- Carry concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Improper storage of a firearm/restricted weapon [CC 86(2)]; and
- Break and enter and steal a firearm [CC 98(1)(B)].
GEOTZ and MARTIN made their first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges today, Monday, December 17, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
