Stolen vehicles continue to be a concerning public safety issue and crime trend in Regina. The Regina Police is again urging vehicle owners to not leave vehicles running unattended and to remove keys from vehicles.
From November 27, 2018 to December 4, 2018, police received 46 reports of stolen vehicles. Of those 46, 50% were reported to have been left running with keys or unlocked with keys in the vehicle. During this frigid time of year, it is tempting to leave a vehicle running unattended for a few minutes to warm up. Those few minutes can be all the time a thief needs to hop in the vehicle and drive away.
Take steps to prevent becoming a victim of crime. Lock vehicle doors, remove the keys, and do not leave the vehicle running unattended.
