At approximately 6:45 a.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018, police were dispatched to the 700 block of Cameron Street, for a report of a house fire. Upon arrival police encountered an aggressive dog which prompted police to call Regina Humane Society – Animal Protection Services for assistance. While dealing with a subject at the scene of the house fire, the dog continued to be aggressive. As a result, an officer fired two shots at the dog, striking it once. The dog fled but was located a short time later by Regina Humane Society – Animal Protection Services and police, and is alive but injured. The dog is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained.
An investigation into this incident is on-going at this time.
