The Regina Police Service is asking for information from the public to assist in an investigation into a vehicle/pedestrian collision that occurred in Regina yesterday (Tuesday, October 30, 2018).
On October 30, 2018, at approximately 4:46 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 4th Avenue and Albert Street for a report of a collision in which a ten year-old male child had his leg run over by a truck. A witness to the collision indicated east and westbound traffic was stopped for a red light on 4th Avenue when the child ran between stopped westbound vehicles. The child almost ran into the side of a truck, which was making a turn from westbound on 4th Avenue to northbound on Albert; the child stopped and slid partially under the vehicle, with the rear wheel rolling over the boy’s leg. Fortunately, it appeared the child sustained only scrapes and bruises, but he was taken to hospital by EMS for further assessment. He was released shortly thereafter. The truck did not remain at the scene; information gathered at this stage indicates the driver may have been unaware anything occurred.
The Regina Police Service is looking to gather all available information in this incident. To that end, police are asking anyone who may be able to assist this investigation to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
