Police have arrested and charged a 22 year-old male in relation to the death of the 21 year-old male, who died in hospital on October 24. The investigation is still continuing.
On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, just after 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to an incident in the 2800 block of Sinton Avenue involving an injured 21 year-old male. EMS transported the injured male to hospital, where he passed away on the morning of October 24, 2018. Investigation has revealed this death to be a homicide. This is the sixth homicide in 2018 on record in Regina. The victim is 21 year-old Miguel Lucas Antoan LANE, of Regina.
Investigation into this incident led to the arrest of a 22 year-old a male.
Twenty-two year-old Austin Thomas YATES, of Regina, is charged with second degree murder [CC 235(1)].
YATES makes his first appearance on this charge in Provincial Court on October 26, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.
Police are continuing their work, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, to fully investigate and clarify the circumstances surrounding this death.
