A 22 year-old male is facing charges after an incident in which a police Conducted Energy Weapon – commonly known as a Taser – was deployed. A second male has been charged with a Breach of Probation.
On October 4, 2018, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Regina Police Service members attended to a residence in the 1400 block of McTavish Street to arrest a male on several warrants. Officers attempted to arrest the male but he became aggressive and would not listen to police commands. During the verbal interaction with police, the male reached into his pockets, then behind a shelf, and then reached into his waistband. A police officer discharged a CEW and the male was successfully taken into custody after a brief physical altercation. The male was assessed by EMS at the scene and then transported to Regina Police Service Detention. A second male was arrested in the house, as he was also the subject of outstanding warrants.
