A twenty-two year-old Regina male has been charged after investigation into a series of robberies that occurred in spring of 2018.
Police investigated a series of armed robberies, occurring from March 2018 to May 2018, where a lone male, in disguise and armed with a firearm, would enter a business, typically a restaurant or lounge, and demand money. These incidents occurred:
- On the evening of March 26, 2018, at a business on the 100 block of University Park Drive.
- In early morning of April 8, 2018, at a business on the 4100 block of 5th
- On the evening of April 10, 2018, at a business on the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue East.
- On the evening of April 11, 2018, at a business on the 400 block of Albert Street.
- In early morning of April 14, 2018, at a business on the 1600 block of 9th Avenue East, where the suspect discharged a firearm while fleeing.
- On the evening of April 15, 2018, at a business on the 2100 block of Victoria Avenue East.
- On the morning of April 26, 2018, at a business on the 900 block of Arcola Avenue East.
- In early morning of May 14, 2018, at a business on the 500 block of North Albert Street.
- In the afternoon of May 14, 2018, at a business on the 2000 block of Park Street, where the suspect discharged a firearm into the floor.
Investigation into these incidents led to a 22 year-old male, who was charged for these offences on October 3, 2018.
Twenty-two year-old Trenton LALIBERTY, of Regina, is charged with:
- 9 X Armed robbery using a firearm [CC 344(1)(A.1)
- 10 X Disguise with intent [CC 351(2)];
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)];
- 2 X Assault with a weapon [CC 267(A)];
- 9 X Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)];
- 2 X Discharge a firearm in a reckless manner [CC 244.2(1)(B)];
- 10 X Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)].
LALIBERTY made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 9:30 a.m.
