A 22 year-old Regina male will be in court mid-October on impaired driving charges relating to a Saturday morning collision on Saskatchewan Drive.
Police were dispatched shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Saturday September 29, 2018, to Saskatchewan Drive and Lorne Street for a report of a two vehicle collision. Preliminary investigation indicates a minivan with two occupants was stopped facing west bound on Saskatchewan Drive at Lorne St. when it was rear ended by another vehicle also travelling westbound. The two occupants of the minivan vehicle were transported to hospital by EMS with what was initially deemed to be non-life threatening but serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was cleared by EMS and arrested. Further investigation led to charges against the male.
Twenty-two year-old Christian Johan BROOKS, DOB: 1995-10-07, of Regina, is charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm and Driving with a Blood Alcohol level Exceeding .08 Causing Bodily Harm. BROOKS was released on an officers recognizance with a court date of October 16, 2018.
