This Sunday will mark the 15th year that Saskatchewan police and peace officers will gather to remember the lives lost in the line of duty.
The Police and Peace Officer Memorial will take place in Regina with a parade and wreath laying ceremony on Sunday, September 30, 2018. The Parade of Officers will begin at 10:30 a.m. at College Avenue and Albert Street and will end with the wreath laying at the Saskatchewan Legislature at 11:00 a.m. Please see the attached poster for more details.
The event began nationally in 1998 when the Government of Canada officially proclaimed the day to express appreciation for the dedication of police and peace officers who make the ultimate sacrifice in their efforts to keep communities safe.
This event will also welcome police and peace officer personnel participating in the 2018 Ride to Remember, a three-day, 368-kilometer cycling trip, ending at the Saskatchewan Police and Peace Officer Memorial in Regina.
