One male suspect is among those in custody after an Emergency Services call involving Crisis Negotiators, Special Weapons and Tactics, and Canine teams this morning (Tuesday, August 28, 2018). Regina Police Service members remain in the area of the 400 block of Connaught Street; however, Emergency Services personnel have cleared the scene. Traffic and pedestrian movement in the area is returning to normal and residents have been notified.
This Emergency Services call is related to a larger investigation, with details to follow. At this time, police can confirm that the suspect being sought is in custody. This arrest was effected without injury to either the suspect, police or members of the public. There were also a number of other individuals at the same location who have been taken into custody but at this time police have not yet determined their involvement, if any, in the incident.
It’s anticipated there will be criminal charges resulting from this investigation. Details will be made public as soon as they are available.
