Two males are charged after an incident on Friday, August 24, 2018, which included a call-out of Regina Police Service special duty members.
On August 24 2018, at approximately 6:34 pm, members of the Regina Police Service attended to the 800 block of Elphinstone Street to investigate reports of a male pointing a gun at members of the public. Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), were called out to the scene. After a lengthy negotiation, which included the deployment of tear gas and the eventual search of a neighbouring residence, two occupants, a 25 year-old male, and a 23 year-old male, were arrested and charged. A search revealed a firearm which was confirmed to be an Airsoft handgun.
Twenty-five year-old Guy Kendrick Lenney FAVEL, of Regina, is charged with:
- Resist peace officer [CC 129(A)];
- Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm [CC 91(1)];
- Carrying concealed weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Break and enter to house with intent [CC 348(1)(A)]; and
- Fail to comply [145(3)].
Twenty-three year-old Jeremy Ryan Lee FAVEL, of Regina, is charged with:
- Break and enter to house with intent [CC 348(1)(A)];
- Resist arrest [CC 129(A)]; and
- Fail to comply [145(3)].
Both accused made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this morning, August 27, 2018, at 9:30 AM.
