On Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at about 8:00p.m., the Regina Police Service executed a warrant upon a home in the 1300 block of McTavish Street. The SWAT team assisted in securing the residence which at the time of the police operation was hosting numerous persons. While police members engaged in the execution of the warrant, the public’s access to this area was temporarily suspended.
During the course of the search, police located a loaded sawed off .22 caliber rifle, a homemade zip gun, a tazer, clips and magazines for ammunition and a large quantity of various ammunition itself, as well as some stolen property. The following charges have been laid at this point in the investigation.
Tristan RAPHAEL (1982/12/19) of Regina and Gerald POCHA (1976/12/29) also of Regina have both been charged with the following firearm offences:
86(1) – Careless storage of a firearm
88 – Weapons Dangerous
92(1) – Unauthorized possession of a firearm
92(2) – Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device (taser located inside the residence)
95 – Possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition
96 – Possession of weapon obtained by crime
117.01(1) – Breach of prohibition order
The investigation at this point is still ongoing.
