A 14 year-old and a 13 year-old are facing a combined total of 40 charges after investigation into graffiti incidents in the city of Regina. While each incident of damage is deemed to be under $5,000 (as each charge reflects), taken as a whole, these charges represent property damage in the tens of thousands of dollars. While some business properties were targets, many of the victims left with the clean-up costs are individual city residents.
Police investigation into graffiti offences occurring in the southern area of Regina led to two young males: a 14 year-old male, who was arrested and charged on May 17, 2018, and a 13 year-old, who was arrested and charged on May 29, 2018.
A 14 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- 16 X Mischief Under $5,000 [CC 430(4)].
A 13 year-old male, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- 24 X Mischief Under $5,000 [CC 430(4)].
The youths make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court on June 26, 2018 at 9:30 am.
