On May 26, 2018 at approximately 1:30am, police encountered an SUV driving erratically on Dewdney Avenue. Police followed the vehicle for several blocks, however the SUV evaded police around 1st Avenue North. After a brief search of the area, the SUV was found vacant and parked behind the 400 block of Alexandra Street. Two female youths were apprehended and charged with possession of a stolen auto. A canine track located two more females: an adult female and a thirteen year-old female youth, who were also charged.
The three youths: a fourteen year-old female and two thirteen year-old females, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]. One of the 13 year-olds is charged with failure to comply [137 YCJA].
Nineteen year-old J’lynn ACROSSTHEMOUNTAIN is charged with:
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)]; and
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle [249(1)(A)].
ACROSSTHEMOUNTAIN made her first appearance in Provincial Court on these charges on Monday, May 28, 2018, at 2:00pm. The youths appeared in Youth Court at 2:00pm, on Monday, May 28, 2018.
