A 25 year-old female is facing drug, weapons and stolen auto charges in connection with an investigation on May 18, 2018.
On Friday, May 18, 2018, at about 10:30 a.m., a police officer on patrol noticed a van using an alley to travel westbound in the area of the 3400-3500 block of Dewdney Avenue. The officer queried the license plate and found the vehicle had been reported stolen. The officer located the van a few minutes later, parked behind a residence in the 3500 block of Dewdney. A female exiting the vehicle was taken into custody for possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect was carrying a bag, which was found to contain a large machete and a quantity of a substance believed to be methamphetamine. Further investigation led to charges against this individual.
Twenty-five year-old Tylan Jamaine BIRD, of Regina, is charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace (machete) [88 CC];
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance (methamphetamine) [4(1) CDSA]; and
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [355(b) CC]
BIRD will make her first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on June 28, 2018.
