At approximately 9:17 pm on May 20, 2018 police were dispatched to the Casino Regina at 1880 Saskatchewan Drive for a report of an armed robbery involving the theft of an automobile.
A lone male approached a parked vehicle in the Casino Regina Parking lot to confront the driver. The male demanded the driver exit the vehicle and turn over his vehicle to the suspect. The suspect threatened the driver of the vehicle with a knife. The driver was unharmed, but had his vehicle stolen from him at knifepoint.
Police attended the location and searched the area in an attempt to locate the stolen vehicle. Via a diligent search, police located the stolen vehicle in the 1600 block of Rae Street. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody by members of the Regina Police Service. The suspect was found to have on his person stolen property unrelated to this incident.
Danton BITTERNOSE of Regina is charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of stolen property over $5000 and possession of stolen property under $5000.
The male will be held in custody and will make his first appearance in court on Tuesday May 22, 2018 at 10 am.
