Three people have been arrested and face charges in connection with a series of encounters with a stolen truck yesterday: Monday, March 26, 2018.
Initially police were dispatched, just after 11:40 a.m., to an address in the 4600 block of 4th Avenue for a report of a possible stolen vehicle: a black Ford F350. When police arrived, the vehicle was gone, but the truck was spotted again, by a citizen, at about 12:47 p.m. (same day), south bound on the Ring Road. By this time the truck was missing a distinctive tailgate. Again, the vehicle was gone before police were able to get to the area. The truck was spotted a third time – this time it was stationary in a downtown parking lot. At this time, the truck was bearing a license plate that did not match the registered plate. Police were able to establish that the vehicle was, in fact, the vehicle that had been reported stolen. Officers were able to apprehend three individuals at a nearby business. The three: one male and two females, were charged as a result of the subsequent investigation.
Twenty-nine year-old Kyle Travis CARON and 33 year-old Doran KAUFMANN, both of Regina, are jointly charged with Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 [355(a) CC]. In addition CARON is facing charges of: Possession of Stolen Property (license plate) under $5,000 [355(b) CC]; and two charges of Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC]. A 29 year-old female accused was released on an Officer’s Recognizance to appear in court on May 3, 2018.
Both CARON and KAUFMANN made their first appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today, Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
