On February 26, 2018, at approximately 10:42 p.m., police were dispatched to the 400 block of Balfour Drive for a firearms related call. Police arrived and called the occupants out of the residence. All occupants exited the residence, and the residence was cleared by police. Among the items seized was a machete and a loaded firearm. A thirty-two year-old male, a twenty-one year-old female, and a twenty-eight year-old male were arrested and charged.
Thirty-two year-old Chris Alvin FAVEL, of Regina, is charged with:
- Improper storage of a firearm/restricted weapon [CC 86(2)];
- Possession of a loaded or restricted firearm [CC 95(1)(A)];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Tampering with serial number of firearm [CC 108(1)(A)]; and
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm [CC 91(1)].
Twenty-eight year-old Albert William Joseph SADDLEBACK, of Regina, is charged with:
- Improper storage of a firearm/restricted weapon [CC 86(2)];
- Possession of a loaded or restricted firearm [CC 95(1)(A)];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Tampering with serial number of firearm [CC 108(1)(A)]; and
- Possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order [CC 117.01(1)]; and
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession unauthorized. [CC 92(1)].
Twenty-one year-old Arissa Renee TAWIYAKA, of Regina, is charged with:
- Improper storage of a firearm/restricted weapon [CC 86(2)];
- Possession of a loaded or restricted firearm [CC 95(1)(A)];
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88];
- Tampering with serial number of firearm [CC 108(1)(A)];
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm [CC 91(1)]; and
- Obstruct peace officer [CC 129(A)].
All three charged made their first appearance in Provincial Court this morning, February 27, 2018, at 9:30 a.m.
