On January 31, 2018, at approximately 5:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Radway Street and Steele Crescent for the report of a suspicious vehicle. Information received was that four young looking occupants were seen in a vehicle, and that they had thrown two car seats out. While en route to the area, police received information that the vehicle matching the description of the suspicious vehicle had just been reported stolen.
The vehicle was located at a parking lot of a shopping mall on the 400 block of Albert Street, where four suspects were seen running into the mall. Three female youths were found in the mall, and arrested. The fourth suspect turned himself in. All four were charged for possession of stolen property, theft of auto, and respective breaches of undertaking.
Four Regina youths, a 15 year-old male, a 15 year-old female, and two 14 year-old females, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, are charged with theft over $5,000 [CC 334(A)]; possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 [CC 355(A)]; and fail to comply [CC 145(3)]. One of the 14 year-old females also faces a charge of failure to comply [CC 145(5.1)].
The accused make their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court today, February 1, 2018, at 2:00 p.m.
