A 14 year-old male is facing a weapons charge after an incident on Tuesday night at a business on Rochdale Boulevard.
At approximately 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, police were dispatched to a business in the 6200 block of Rochdale Boulevard for a report of a weapons offence involving a possible firearm. The preliminary information in the call indicated that there was a group of young people inside the business and that one of them was waving what appeared to be a handgun. A number of police units arrived and eventually located and interviewed five young persons. Investigation led to the discovery of a pellet gun in a garbage disposal bin at the rear of a nearby business. One of the youths was charged in connection with the pellet gun.
The 14 year-old accused cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He is facing one charge of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace, [88 CC]. The youth appeared in Youth Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
