Three Regina males are facing separate charges in connection with an assault on two females, drug possession and impaired driving. The assault occurred outside a bar in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 20, 2018.
On Saturday, January 20, 2018, at about 2:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to an assault in progress happening outside a business in the 6100 block of Rochdale Boulevard. As the officers were en route, new information was added to the call that the suspects had gotten into an SUV and were fleeing the scene. The patrol members spotted an SUV eastbound on Rochdale, turning southbound on McCarthy. The officers activated their emergency equipment and stopped the SUV in a nearby mall parking lot. The 21 year-old driver of the SUV showed signs of impairment and was placed under arrest. There were two males in the backseat, 20 and 21 years of age; both were intoxicated as well. The 21 year-old passenger appeared to have blood on his hand and clothing. Meanwhile, another police unit was with the victims of the assault. They learned that a verbal altercation had started earlier in the evening between a number of people. It’s alleged this developed into a physical assault on two females as they were leaving the bar. It’s alleged one male struck each of the female victims twice in the face. Investigation into this incident led to the arrest of the two passengers from the SUV. A search of the 20 year-old male suspect produced a quantity of a substance that was tested for the presence of cocaine. Each of the males in the SUV was charged. The victims sustained facial injuries consistent with a physical assault. They did not require medical attention at the scene.
