A 30 year-old male and an 32 year-old female, both of Regina, are facing numerous drug and weapons charges in connection with a two-month investigation, culminating in a high-risk warrant search on Friday, January 12, 2018, at a residence in the Lakeridge area.
On Friday afternoon, January 12, 2018, police emergency services teams including Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and Crisis Negotiators, assisted patrol in executing a high-risk warrant on a house in the 4400 block of Nicurity Drive. A safety perimeter was established around the residence and two adults were safely taken into custody without incident. As a result of the investigation and search, police recovered drugs, firearms and other weapons, cash, and stolen property. The two individuals in custody were charged with numerous offences.
Thirty year-old Kelly Ryan POWELL, and 32 year-old Alecia Erin EISWERTH, both of Regina, are jointly charged with the following eleven (11) offences:
– Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 (motorcycle), s. 355(a) CC;
– Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000 (snow machine), s. 355(a) CC;
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine), s. 5(2) CDSA;
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine), s. 5(2) CDSA;
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance (cannabis marihuana), s. 4(1) CDSA,
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance (cannabis resin), s. 4(1) CDSA,
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (taser), s. 88 CC;
– Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose (brass knuckles), s. 88 CC;
– Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition (handgun), s. 95(1)(a) CC;
– Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (shotgun), s. 91(1) CC; and
– Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000, (cash) s. 355(a) CC.
In addition, Kelly Ryan POWELL is charged with:
– Possession of a Firearm knowing he is Unauthorized (shotgun), s. 92(1) CC;
– Possession of a Firearm knowing he is Unauthorized (restricted handgun), s. 92(1) CC; and
– 3 x Breach of Probation, s. 733.1(1) CC.
Both POWELL and EISWERTH made their first court appearances in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, (this morning) January 15, 2018.
