A 37 year-old Regina man is facing charges in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at business in the 1800 block of College Avenue on Sunday, October 22, 2017.
This investigation began when investigators received information about an armed robbery which had occurred a few days earlier at a business located in the 1800 block of College Avenue. In that event, a male suspect, with his face covered, entered the business just before closing time and pointed a gun at a 24 year-old female employee. The suspect then demanded the employee fill bags with commodities from the store, as well as a significant amount of cash. The investigation into this event led to identification of a viable suspect, followed by the arrest of this individual on October 28, 2017.
Thirty-seven year-old John Wayne ANDERSON, DOB: 1980-02-14, of Regina, is charged with:
– Armed Robbery, section 344(1)(a.1) CC;
– Wearing a Disguise with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence, section 351(2) CC;
– Possession of a Weapon (handgun), section 88 CC; and
– Breach of Probation, section 733.1(1) CC.
ANDERSON made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017. The investigation into this robbery is ongoing.
