Three Regina female youths, two aged fourteen and one fifteen, face charges in relation to a series of assaults, some of which were the subject of a recent news release. Investigation into these incidents led to the arrests of three females, on October 3, 2017. Investigation into these incidents is ongoing and more arrests and charges may be forthcoming.
On September 30, 2017, at 2:50 pm, police were dispatched to the Regina General Hospital for the report of a drive-by bear spray or pepper spray assault on an 18 year-old female.
On September 30, 2017, at 3:52 pm, police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Quebec Street for a report of another spray assault. Two fourteen year-old females and a twelve year-old female had been sprayed by people in a white truck.
On September 30, 2017, at 11:54 pm, police were dispatched to the 900 block of East Arcola Avenue to investigate a spray assault. The victim, a 32 year-old male, was walking alone when a white truck pulled up beside him, and one of the occupants then sprayed him.
On October 1, 2017, at approximately 2:00 am, police received information that a white truck seen racing around the neighborhood was now stopped, having crashed into a tree at the 1600 block of Toronto Street. Police arrived and found the white truck at rest against a tree, and abandoned. The truck was confirmed to be a stolen vehicle.
Investigation revealed that the three female youths had been in possession of the previously mentioned stolen white truck, as well as another stolen automobile that was found abandoned on October 2, 2017. One of the 14 year-old females was linked to another stolen vehicle recovered on September 20, 2017.
On October 2, 2017, at approximately 4:20 pm, police were dispatched to a report of an assault in progress. A 14 year-old female was walking on the 1500 block of Elphinstone Street, three females got out of a vehicle and assaulted her, then fled in the vehicle.
On October 2, 2017, at approximately 7:15 pm, police were dispatched to 14th Avenue and Elliot Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Three masked females threatened a thirteen year-old female with a knife.
A 14 year-old Regina female, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- 6 x Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)];
- Assault [CC 266]
- 2 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)];
- Disguise with Intent [CC 351(2)].
- Fail to Comply [YCJA 137].
A second 14 year-old Regina female, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- 6 x Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)];
- Assault [CC 266]
- 2 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)];
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 [CC 355(B)];
- Disguise with Intent [CC 351(2)].
- Fail to Comply [CC 145(3)].
A 15 year-old Regina female, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is also charged with:
- 2 X Assault with a weapon [CC 267(A)].
- Assault [CC 266]
- 2 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [CC 355(A)];
- Disguise with Intent [CC 351(2)].
- Fail to Comply [CC 145(3)];
All three charged made their first court appearance in Provincial Youth Court this morning, Wednesday, October 04, 2017, at 9:30 am.
