One adult male is facing drug trafficking charges after a SWAT call on Tuesday afternoon in Regina.
On Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at about 5:00 p.m., the Regina Police Service obtained and carried out a CDSA warrant on a residence on the 1000 block of Athol Street. Ongoing investigations lead to information about weapons and drugs in the residence. This information prompted the request for authorization of Negotiators and SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), to assist Patrol and Canine. Six people emerged from the house and were taken into custody for interviews, and one male was charged. A search of the premises revealed ammunition, methamphetamine and marihuana in the residence.
Thirty-nine year-old Jason Alvin URSULAN (DOB: 1978-07-07), of Regina is charged with:
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order [Sec 733.1(1), CC];
• Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [Sec 355(B), CC];
• Two charges of Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking [Sec 5(2), CDSA];
• Four charges of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [Sec 117.01(1), CC].
URSULAN was released on officer recognizance and will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m., on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
