On June 24 at about 2:30 am a male was kidnapped from a location in Regina. After being robbed of his personal items, he was driven out of town to the Muscowpetung First Nation and left there. The victim was able to walk approximately 4 kilometers without shoes and clothing to a house to call the RCMP.
On July 5, 2017 Daniel SCOTT (1990/06/05) was charged with kidnapping and robbery with violence, as well as various firearm offences in relation to this incident.
On July 6, 2017, SCOTT, while awaiting his court appearance was erroneously released from the court house at 1655 hrs.
The Regina Police Service immediately began to search for SCOTT in an attempt to arrest him. SCOTT was located in the North Central part of Regina where plain clothes officers observed him enter into a home.
Officers surrounded the home and after a brief dialogue with SCOTT, he exited the house peacefully.
SCOTT was charged with the additional charges of Obstruction of Peace Officer and Escape Lawful Custody.
