An 18 year-old male is facing charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm after a collision in the early-morning hours in which a vehicle struck a house.
Police were dispatched at about 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, to the area of 2nd Avenue North and Osborne Street for a report of a motor vehicle collision with injuries. When police arrived they found a vehicle on its side on the east side of a house that had been significantly damaged. It appeared the vehicle had struck the house. There were two males outside the vehicle and one still in the car. A 76 year-old female occupant of the house was calling for help. Police officers forced the front door open and a female officer found the woman in her bed on the east side of the house. The bed had been moved away from the wall by the impact and debris from the walls and ceiling littered the room. The woman did not appear to have any apparent injuries, but she was transported to hospital by EMS for assessment. The three males from the car were also taken to hospital by EMS. Officers at the scene believed there was a fourth male passenger in the car but initial attempts to locate him were unsuccessful. There was concern that he, too, was injured. The fourth male made contact with police this afternoon and it was determined he suffered only minor injuries. As a result of this investigation, the eighteen year-old driver was charged.
Eighteen year-old Jeremy Enock POITRAS, DOB: 1998-10-26, of Regina, is facing three charges of Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm, contrary to section 255(a) CC. POITRAS was released on an Undertaking to appear in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on July 11, 2017.
