A 29 year-old Regina male is facing a charge of Attempted Murder and Assault after an incident on May 3, 2017 that resulted in two adult males being taken to hospital. The victims are 29 and 55 years old. The 29 year-old victim remains in intensive care in hospital as a result of the injuries he sustained in this incident.
On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at about 1:27 a.m., police received a call from a male reporting he’d been the victim of an assault at his residence in the 500 block of Wascana Street. A moment later, another call came in reporting a second incident, in the same building (different residence). Police arrived on scene and found a 55 year-old male who described that he’d been assaulted by an unknown male, who then left his apartment. Police also found a second male, a 29 year-old, who lived in a different part of the same building. This individual was not conscious and appeared to have sustained very serious injuries. EMS transported the 29 year-old to hospital. Officers secured the scene and began investigation including a search of the area by a canine team. There was no suspect located in this search; however, continued investigation into this incident led to the arrest, on May 10th, of a 29 year-old Regina male. This individual was charged in connection with the assaults on both the 55 year-old and the 29 year-old victims. The evidence gathered in the investigation supports a charge of Attempted Murder in the case of the 29 year-old victim.
