The Regina Police Service is asking for help from the public in solving a recent robbery, in which a young woman was shot in the face by two suspects with pellet guns. Investigation into this case has not yet identified or located the suspects.
On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, around 8:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 2200 block Broad Street for a report of a robbery, involving a firearm. The information in the call indicated the victim – a 25 year-old female – was approached by two young males, who pointed what appeared to be handguns at her face and demanded her belongings. The victim hesitated and both males shot her in the face two or three times each. The males fled as the victim made her way to a nearby business to call 9-1-1. Police did an immediate area check with negative results. They and EMS attended to the victim and it was determined that her injuries were not life-threatening. Police believe the weapons were pellet guns based on the victim’s injuries and other evidence. A canine team started a track in the area, but was unable to locate the suspects. The victim was taken to hospital by EMS for assessment and treatment of her injuries; she was later released.
The first suspect is described as: Male, 17-19 years old; 5’ 8” to 5’ 11’ tall, weighing about 140-160 pounds; black hair, dark eye colour; clean shaven, no glasses or visible scars; wearing a black hat, bomber-style jacket with “Raiders” logo and lettering, dark blue or black jeans and white and black shoes. The second suspect is described as: Male, 16-17 years old, 5’ 3” to 5’ 5”, weighing about 130-140 pounds; short brown/black hair and dark eye colour; no facial hair; no glasses or visible scars; wearing a black hat, plain black hoodie, dark blue or black jeans. Both pellet guns were described as looking like large, black automatic handguns.
