A 24 year-old male from Edenwold, Saskatchewan, is facing a dozen charges in connection with incidents of Break, Enter and Theft that occurred over the weekend.
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, just after 11:30 p.m., police were dispatched to a business in the 1800 block of Victoria Avenue East for a report of a theft in progress. Preliminary investigation indicated a male suspect had come in through the back door of the business, into an area closed to the public. It’s alleged the suspect went through employees’ personal belongings, stole some items and then left in a red truck. The complainant was able to obtain license plate information for the vehicle. Police learned that the same vehicle had been reported stolen, earlier in the evening. At about midnight, one of the victims reported her credit card had just been used. Police were able to find the business where the fraudulent use of the credit card occurred. A search of the surrounding area located the stolen truck and a male suspect was arrested nearby. Further investigation led to several charges in connection with these events.
Twenty-four year-old Andrew James DEBRUYCKER, DOB: 1992-11-15, of Edenwold, SK, is facing 12 charges:
Theft of Motor Vehicle, s. 333.1(1) CC;
2 x Break, Enter and Commit Theft, s. 348(1)(b) CC;
Theft under $5,000, s. 334(b) CC;
Possession/Use of Credit Card Data, s. 342(1)(c) CC;
4 x Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000, s. 355(b) CC;
Breach of Probation, s. 733.1(1) CC;
Breach of Undertaking, s. 145(3) CC; and
Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), s. 4(1) CDSA.
DEBRUYCKER made his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017.
