The Regina Police Service is continuing an investigation into a downtown collision between an SUV and a scooter, which resulted in a trip to the hospital for an elderly male.
Police were dispatched at approximately 9:11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, to the intersection of 11th Avenue and Smith Street for a report of a collision between an SUV and a medical scooter. The person on the scooter, an 83 year-old male, was taken to hospital for assessment and treatment of injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates that the SUV was westbound on 11th Avenue, turning south onto Smith Street. The male on the scooter was in the south crosswalk, crossing Smith Street, from west to east. He is in hospital for treatment of relatively minor injuries and observation. The driver of the SUV was not injured. Investigators are conducting interviews and continuing to gather information about the collision. It is not known at this time, what charges, if any, may result.
