Four males are facing attempted murder charges in connection with a shooting incident on January 26, 2017, that sent a 22 year-old male to hospital. Police are continuing their investigation in attempts to locate others who may have been present when this incident occurred.
The incident occurred on January 26, 2017 at a house on Deergrove Crescent. Regina Police Service patrol members were dispatched at about 8:19 p.m. for a report of an altercation and shots fired. Just minutes later, the police Communications Centre got a call from a house in the 900 block of Shannon Road, indicating a male had arrived at that point with apparent gun shot wounds. The male was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries. Investigation determined the male victim, who is 22 years old, was wounded at the house on Deergrove Crescent.
Police obtained a search warrant for the house on Deergrove Crescent. Three males, ages 18, 21 and 22 were taken into custody on Thursday, January 26th and have been charged. A third male, 20 years old, was arrested on Saturday, January 28th and is also facing charges. Police are continuing their investigation into this matter.
Twenty-two year-old Liban ABDI, DOB: 1994/10/14, of Regina is charged with attempted murder, assault with a weapon and breach of probation.
Twenty-one year-old Brandon KREWENCHUK, DOB: 1995/12/13, of Regina is charged with attempted murder and breach of probation order.
Twenty year-old Roble ABDI, DOB: 1996/12/19, from Regina is charged with attempted murder.
Eighteen year old Brodi GAJEWSKI, DOB: 1998/10/08 from Regina is charged with attempted murder.
The four accused will make their first appearances in Provincial Court on Monday, January 30, 2017.
