On January 20, 2017, at approximately 12:09 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on the 1800 block of Montreal Street for the report of a break and enter in progress. Information received was that a male was kicking at the door of the residence, demanding money. When police arrived, the male had left the residence. Police located the suspect in the area and attempted to take him into custody. When police attempted to place him in handcuffs, the male swung his arm and ran away. More officers attended the scene and, after a short foot chase, were able to arrest the male.
Thirty-eight year-old Evan Lyle KAKAKAWAY (DOBL 1978/05/20), of Regina, is charged with Attempt Break and Enter House [348(1)(A) CC] and Resist Arrest [129(A) CC].
KAKAKAWAY was released on an undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on these charges on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at 9:30 a.m.
