On December 22, 2016, at approximately 12:45 a.m., police observed a suspicious automobile near 5th Avenue and Angus Street. Police lost sight of the vehicle as it entered an alley. Officers located the vehicle parked on the 900 block of Retallack Street. Police confirmed the vehicle is stolen, and approached the vehicle on foot, and the driver of the vehicle drove away, evading police.
Within minutes, police were dispatched to 6th Avenue and Rae Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. A vehicle struck a second vehicle, causing the second vehicle to hit a light standard. The suspect exited the first vehicle, and ran away on foot. Police arrived and determined the first vehicle was the stolen auto that had just evaded police. The driver of the second vehicle, a 55 year-old male, was transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as minor.
The suspect is described as male, Caucasian, approximately 5’10” tall, with full beard, wearing an army camouflage jacket with black sleeves and a green toque.
