On Sunday, July 24, 2016, at approximately 4:00 am, at 5th Avenue and Athol Street, an injured male approached police stating that he had been physically assaulted and robbed.
It is alleged that the victim, a 20 year-old male, was attending a party on the 1300 block of Garnet Street when he was prevented from leaving and assaulted by numerous people in attendance. The suspects took belongings, including his vehicle keys. The victim was held at the residence and escaped through a bathroom window, where he ran to a driver, who assisted him and took him to police.
Police attended to the location described and detained a thirty-six year-old male, an eighteen year-old female, a seventeen year-old female, and a sixteen year-old male, who were arrested and charged. EMS attended to the victim whose injuries were described as non-life threatening.
Police located the victim’s vehicle at College Avenue and Albert Street, where a traffic stop was conducted. However, the vehicle evaded at 13th Avenue and Retallack Street. The vehicle was again located by police, abandoned on the 600 block of Garnet Street. Five suspects were located in the immediate area, arrested and charged.
